I am a mixed-media textile artist, tutor and author, who likes to stitch, burn and melt materials such as Kunin Felt, Tyvek and Lutradur before adding acrylic mediums and colour to create textured, unusual and exciting surfaces.

For me, the satisfaction comes from sample making, discovering new techniques and creating unusual fabrics to use either as backgrounds to then stitch into or as pieces to be displayed in their own right.

I am the author of four books published by d4daisy

'Stitching the Textured Surface'

Co-written with Carol McFee this book explores the use of gesso and molding paste to create amazing surfaces.

'Fabulous Surfaces'

Uses tissue paper as the 'main ingredient' to create stunning effects.

'Exploring Creative Surfaces'

Looks at creating more unique surfaces using scrim, polyester fabrics, foils and mixed media products.

'Beautiful Bonded Surfaces'

Tyvek fabric, fusible webbing and background fabrics are used to create a unique textural surface.

I am a member of East Anglian Stitched Textiles (E.A.S.T.) a long established group mentored by Anthea Godfrey, past Principal Lecturer at the London College of Fashion and Artistic Director of the Embroiderers Guild.

I have appeared in several magazine articles including: Stitch, Creative Workbox, Workshop on the Web, Fibre & Stitch and Cloth Paper Scissors and I am available for workshops, talks and demonstrations throughout the U.K.
